Merry Christmas

This time of year it gets so busy and the days blur into one but here is a little visit we did to baddesley clinton short a sweet just like the season itself.

Volunteering forms, finders crossed.

We took a trip to Baddesley clinton the first week of christmas to get some inspiration and capture a bit of that festive feeling. They had beautifully decorated with dried fruit and evergreens which filled the house an amazing smell. With fresh mince pies on offer and carol singers we loved it so much even the elf above they had stuck in a sack.

Winter in the English countryside

Even the in the winter as the nights draw in and the weather becomes colder, wetter and the countryside becomes as wild as ever we still like to get out in the fresh air (and we mean freezing when we say fresh) fields that have been prepared for next year creating a patchwork quilt over the hills,  the trees have shed there leaves revealing views and treasures hidden in the summer, the wildlife foraging for food ready to hibernate.

The Hanbury church walk below.

We wrapped up warm and went exploring the countryside from the Cotswolds to the heart of Warwick. Exploring hidden villages and seeing how the winter changes the landscape we live in.

if you are exploring the wilds in uk and  at any time of the year you will need to throw on your walking boots or wellies and a old coat that isn't to hard to wash. I have taken a slide down a bank on my bottom before now. Still its alot of fun.

The rivers often rise during the winter months as we have alot of rain fall  it makes for some beautiful views as the river cuts its way through new parts of the landscape

The leaves on the trees turn an array of beautiful colours covering the countryside in a flurry of oranges and reds

Fallen leaves cover forests floors making for a satisfying crunch under foot

The last colours of summer can be seen hiding amongst the trees and hedges

Paths that have been hidden by vines and trees in the summer growth reveal themselves.

We love sheep they look so warm and cuddly in the winter and they can really stand up to the different terrain in this country we have spotted them everywhere from mountains to cliffs they even don't mind a nice calm field by a country road. These sheep are in the middle of a quiet village of walton.

When we do get back to the car our reward for finding it again is to have a nice warm cup of tea from our trusty flask. We never go anywhere without an emergency flask of tea.

There is no better way to end a chilly winters day than in front of a warm fire with a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate, only after you have washed all the mud off yourself mind. If you don't have one of those then usually hugging the radiator works just fine for us.
We hope this inspires you to get out there and adventure or to stay warm and look at us do it instead. Have a great day.
