Cornwall 2015 part 1

We love Cornwall it has beautiful beaches and some of the better weather in England. With the car fully loaded we planned a route and set off. First stop Newquay.

After 5 hours of driving we finally got there and the weather was lovely warm with a nice light breeze. The tent went up and the tea came out, home for the next week. Or so we thought. A fellow camper came over to say hello and to pre warn us about the crazy winds well actually what he said was 'I'm worried you might blow away' so they handed us some odd looking pegs and we dutifully used them. It turned out to be the only reason we still have a tent.

Here are some of the beaches in and around Newquay we visited. when not holding down the tent.

Is it still crab hunting if you find nothing but one dead crab?

Constantine Bay

This is a wishing well at Constantine bay instead of throwing in money you find a shell on the beach bring it back and make a wish before leaving.

After watching the sun go down we headed back to our campsite.

Nature woke us up at 3am with a storm that had us holding the sides of the tent up. Everything was falling off and camping cups clanging, storage unit turned over. We quickly realised this was going to be a long night. Even after little sleep and a very jumpy night we awoke to lovely sunshine. We decided to move the tent so that the back would take the force of the wind rather then the side (the bit we were holding up). We had some breakfast put the night behind us and planned to go and see another place in cornwall falmouth.

Willow and stone

After a wander around the shops in falmouth a stop at the beach was the only thing to do this is watergate bay sorry its a bit off kilter.

After a relax (nap) on the beach we headed back to our tent. Even heavier winds were forecast for the days ahead and the tent looking very sorry for itself already. We decided the best thing was to move campsites to one we had been to before near Marazion called Lower Pollards touring park,
